A recent multi-million dollar redevelopment of this spectacular property brings a new standard of exclusivity and luxury to this popular year round holiday destination.
The property is near the end of a rural no through road and consists of 4 separate buildings interconnected by elevated boardwalks through tropical gardens and an ornamental creek. It has over 800 square metres (9,000 square feet) of internal and external luxury living set among over 9 acres of peace and tranquility.
The property is fully air-conditioned throughout with separately controlled, split cooling systems in every room. Most rooms have louvre windows and ceiling fans. All are fully screened and enclosed to ensure year-round comfort.
All external walls are floor to ceiling glass providing seamless integration between indoor and outdoor living. Large bi-fold doors and walls of louvre windows allow the property to be opened on all sides to enjoy tropical breezes and the sounds and smells of the rainforest. You can enjoy the best of both worlds - open, bright and airy tropical days, and comfortable, secure nights for deep and peaceful sleep.
There is a huge hangar-style garage (as well as the carport adjoining the main building), providing ample undercover storage for cars, boats, caravans, etc.
Technology and Security
Using the Phillips Dynalite home automation system (or even via your iPhone or iPad), you can control mood lighting to set any ambiance from anywhere on the property, even while washing down a bottle of “champers” in the outdoor hot tub.
Access to the property is controlled through security gates and an intercom system and is also protected by an alarm system for your complete security. There is also a concealed safe for the secure storage of cash, jewellery and other valuables
Upstairs, the formal lounge includes a Bose Lifestyle 50 audio system complete with a surround-sound home theatre and a 75” (190 cm) LCD 3D Smart TV. Quality lounge suites (with seating for up to 12), in a fully air-conditioned and carpeted environment, with extensive views overlooking the pool, rainforest, gardens and lawns, provides yet another option for private relaxation or group entertainment.
There’s also a comfortable library / office for catching up on e-mail, surfing the web, reading, sitting or napping in one of the high-back leather chesterfield chairs.
Apart from the home theatre, other Bose audio zones include the Atrium, the pool-side patio (which includes the kitchen and bar) and the rear verandah, deck and hot tub pavilion. Each can play a separate source (e.g. TV, CD, DVD, PC, iPod, radio, tape, etc) to provide individual “sound zones” or the same source throughout all zones (13 speakers in all) for a total concert hall experience, indoors and outdoors, all controlled by an LCD touch screen remote control.
There's a great library of music, films and literature of all genres for your enjoyment. The library includes many Australian classics so you can extend your knowledge of Down Under and it’s varied music, history and culture, including those of the Australian Aborigines. Or just experience some of our sports, humour and relaxed lifestyle. There is also an extensive international music, film and book library so there’s something for everyone.
The atrium also leads (in the other direction) to the central kitchen / bar, which in turn opens via full width bi-fold doors onto the large 20 metre (70 foot) long undercover pool-side patio, BBQ pavilion and pool deck. It faces south-east and welcomes the warm morning sun and tropical sea-breezes filtered through palm trees and tropical plants surrounding the huge resort style pool.
The patio and pool deck are great for working on that suntan or for a cool, relaxing place to take a refreshing afternoon swim, read a book or take a “nanny” nap on one of the sumptuous sun lounges or cane chairs, enjoy a cocktail before a casual barbecue or prepare and enjoy a candle lit gourmet meal by the tranquil waters of the pool.
The atrium opens onto a large 20 metre (70 foot) long undercover timber verandah that overlooks the ornamental creek, tropical gardens, extensive lawns and outdoor hot tub pavilion. This verandah leads onto the huge creek-side “under-the-stars” timber deck. A great, tropically cool place for breakfast, lunch or a late afternoon cocktail before dinner. Also great on balmy summer nights for a tropical outdoor dinner party.
Entertainment and Living Areas
As you enter the home through large glass double doors you are drawn to the 4.5 metre (14 foot) high indoor waterfall falling into expansive reflection ponds on two levels. Within this “atrium” area you can enjoy a meal, read a newspaper or magazine, play games, listen to the extensive music library, dance the night away or simply sit and chill out. There's plenty of music CDs, DVDs, books, magazines, games and challenging jigsaw puzzles available on-site for your enjoyment.
Meal Preparation and Dining Areas
The fully equipped gourmet kitchen, right in the middle of all the action, can handle the demands of the most lavish dining experiences.
European appliances, plenty of bench space and a fantastic central location will please everyone from the casual cook to the executive chef. Being right in the middle of the main entertaining area (overlooking the pool), along with the large wet bar, the “executive chef” will never feel away from the action, in fact will be the centre of attention.
There's an excellent range of kitchen appliances, high-quality utensils and table settings. And there’s plenty of room to help make meal preparation a highlight of your stay if you’re into private dining or entertaining.
And as you’d expect, there’s also a great BBQ area (including sink) alongside the pool for preparing everything from a quick snack to a gourmet meal.
Formal dining for all in-house guests can be accommodated indoors beside the waterfall in air-conditioned comfort or under cover outdoors on the pool-side patio or on the huge creek-side “under-the-stars” timber deck. Of course there are many options for romantic meals for 2.
But if you don't wish to cook, there's also plenty of first class restaurants nearby for that special night out, or we can organise an in-house chef to prepare that special meal. We can even organise cooking classes from internationally experienced chefs.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
There are a total of 4 master suites, 3 additional sleeping areas and 6 full bathrooms that can accommodate groups of up to 18 people in 11 beds (plus infants in cots) depending on the make up of your group. We recommend a maximum of 8-12 adults plus children (2-4 families). Depending on age and privacy needs, we may be able to cater for additional children in roll away beds in certain bedrooms or sleeping areas.
The luxurious master suites offer five star accommodation. All include an en-suite bathroom, large wardrobes, air-conditioning and digital TV. They all have see-through privacy curtains or blinds and screened louvre windows to allow natural breezes to flow. Each has fantastic views of the gardens and rainforest while still being totally private.
Three of the master suites (2 kings and 1 queen, all in the main house) are completely private. The 2 king master suites are each large enough to add a rollaway bed or a portable cot.
Outside the queen master suite is a sleeping area that includes 2 king single beds and a private en-suite. There is a curtain separating this area off from the living areas and is suitable for 2 children. If not used for sleeping accommodation this area can be used as a daybed / reading nook and a powder room for quests.
The fourth master suite (upstairs in the separate pavilion) has both a king bed and a double sofa bed suitable for an additional adult or up to 2 additional children. There is also room for up to 2 rollaway beds or portable cots if required (it’s a very large room).
An adjoining sleeping area next to master suite 4 (separated by stairs and 2 rows of curtains) has 2 king single beds that can be made up as a 4th king bed so is suitable for a couple or two children. This sleeping area, while screened off with curtains, shares the bathroom with master suite 4. If this sleeping area is not used, this master suite is also very private, especially if the downstairs lounge is also not in use for sleeping accommodation. This upstairs master suite and sleeping area, and the downstairs lounge are all next to and open to the stairs so whilst private visually, are not totally private audibly as they are screened off from each other by block out curtains.
The lounge downstairs in the pavilion has 2 double sofa beds and can comfortably accommodate either 2 adults or up to 4 children. This area can be screened off with curtains and includes a private en-suite, wardrobe, air-conditioning, TV and DVD.
So if you are a group used to "bunking in", we can accommodate a maximum of 18 guests (in 3 or 4 king beds, 1 queen bed, 2 or 4 king single beds and 3 double sofa beds), plus a few extras in rollaway beds if necessary. We also have room for up to 4 infants in cots over and above these numbers.
However if reasonable privacy and comfort are required we recommend a maximum of 5 couples with additional accommodation for their children in sofa and rollaway beds and/or infants in cots. Otherwise if there are no children we recommend a maximum of 6 couples and at a pinch, up to 2 additional singles.
And if complete privacy is paramount, we recommend a maximum of 4 couples only, using only the 4 master suites for sleeping accommodation.
All en-suites have walk-in showers (double in master suite 1), vanity basins (doubles in master suites 1, 2 and 4) and toilets. Master suite 2 also has a large 2 person spa bath and a bidet.
